Rangers DG and Sindh CM are likely to hold meeting today to discuss the matter

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Rangers authority to conduct raids and arrests is going to end on Wednesday night however, Rangers Director General (DG) Bilal Akbar is scheduled for a meeting today with Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah to discuss the matter.

Pakistan Rangers was given additional authorities by the Sindh Home Department. The Rangers personnel were allowed to carry out raids and arrests suspects. The extension will expire tonight at 12am.

The Sindh government, however, has not decided to extend given authorities for a specific time. The government issues notification of extension in authorities of Rangers every three months.

The sources said that the friction between the provincial government and the federation lead to delay in issuance of notification. The Rangers tenure of stay in Karachi will also expire at the end of 2015.
