‘Flamboyant’ transsexual customer assaulted by store manager: suit

A Brooklyn transsexual named “Lucky” wasn’t lucky at all when a simple shopping trip for an air conditioner turned violent, with the store manager breaking her jaw, a new lawsuit claims.

Manager Lionet Drob, of Bobby’s department store in Flatbush, allegedly flew into a rage when he demanded to see the receipt for the heavy air conditioner in Lucky Michaels’ arms, and Michaels responded that it was in the back pocket of her shorts — and he could help himself by pulling it out.

“She feels that she was abused due to her flamboyant appearance,” said attorney John Lonuzzi. Michaels is seeking unspecified cash damages for the July 2014 incident.

“She had shorts on and the receipt is sticking out of her pocket. She says, ‘Let me cross the street and I’ll show you whatever you need to see.”

Michaels point of view was, “I’m standing in the middle of the street and I have cars beeping their horns at me,” the lawyer said.

But Drob and a second store employee, identified in the lawsuit only as “John Doe,” took offense, the lawyer said.

“They were offended by the suggestion that they would reach into her pocket to get the receipt.”

In addition to the fractured jaw, “They knocked the AC out of her hands,” and threw it at her, causing a serious ankle injury, the lawyer said.

The store employees kept Michaels on the scene and called the police, but the cops wound up arresting Drob instead.

“She suffered a great deal of emotional trauma and psychological harm; she is still treating for that,” the lawyer said.

Drob has been charged with misdemeanor assault, according to court documents. He did not return a call to Bobby’s seeking comment.

But an employee who answered the phone, identified himself as the owner, and gave his name only as “Leon,” insisted that Michaels is the one in the wrong.

“They asked him for the receipt and he didn’t show it, he just kept on walking and that’s why they followed him,” Leon said. “They didn’t do anything out of line, I don’t think.”
