Kanyakumari police have registered a case against two fishermen of Chinna Muttom on a charge of threatening Assistant Director of Fisheries Subramanian. According to the police, I. Silvestre (52) and another unnamed fisherman had violated the department’s order to adhere to fishing timings at Chinna Muttom Fishing Harbour on June 30. Though the officials used winch rope to prevent fishermen from entering the sea for fishing after 9 p.m., the two had allegedly damaged the rope and prevented Mr. Subramanian from discharging his duty around 9.30 p.m. Based on a complaint filed by the official, Kanyakumari police have registered a case.
