Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, while speaking on the occasion of passing out parade of recruits of Railway Protection Force (RPF) And Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) at Daroh, 15 km from here last evening, said this was for the first time that Himachal Pradesh Police Training Centre at Daroh had provided training to the recruits from 16 different zones of the RPF and the RPSF from all over the country. This, the CM said, was a welcome step.

Virbhadra said earlier the recruits of the state had to go to Phillaur in Punjab for this training. But it was a matter of proud that not only Himachali but recruits from other states were also being trained at Daroh.

He exhorted the recruits to accept the challenge of regularly changing trends in the society and be vigilant while on duty to stop misuse and damage to railway and public property and deal with the miscreants strictly. He wished success to the recruits in their future endeavour.

Virbhadra Singh said he was delighted to see the female recruits outnumbering their male counterparts as girls were also forging ahead in every sphere of life.

He announced Rs 10 lakh for the renovation of old barracks and Rs 40 lakh for construction of toilet blocks. He also launched e-challaning, an innovative system through mobiles.

Earlier, the CM took salute from an impressive marchpast by the contingents of Railway Protection Force. He also distributed prizes to the contingents who excelled during the training. Besides playing police band, weaponry skills were also displayed by the girl recruits on the occasion. DGP Sanjay Kumar welcomed Virbhadra and gave details of the recruits.
