HC dismisses Jawad’s plea to arrest Rizvi

High Court on Tuesday dismissed a writ petition moved by Maulana Kalbe Jawad Naqvi seeking arrest of Shia Central Waqf Board chairman Wasim Rizvi in connection with FIR lodged at New Agra police station in Agra district alleging him of financial anomaly.

LUCKNOW: High Court on Tuesday dismissed a writ petition moved by Maulana Kalbe Jawad Naqvi seeking arrest of Shia Central Waqf Board chairman Wasim Rizvi in connection with FIR lodged at New Agra police station in Agra district alleging him of financial anomaly.
A bench of justices Ajai Lamba and A R Khan passed the order after hearing arguments of government counsel Rishad Murtaza, who stated that the probe was complete and there was no evidence against Rizvi.
He informed the bench that police had prepared charge sheet against mutawalli (caretaker) Shozaf Kazim Zarbali and would file it in the court concerned within four weeks.
FIR was lodged in Agra accusing that a lot of money had been embezzled as it was neither deposited in the accounts of mazar nor in the accounts of Shia Central Waqf Board, Lucknow. The case was registered under sections 166, 166A, 395, 409, 120B of the IPC .
Petitioner Kalbe Jawad Naqvi had moved the court demanding it should order arrest of Waseem Rizvi and other accused in the case.
