Breakfast remains the industry’s fastest growing daypart, with Mintel expecting the market to grow by more than $10 billion in the next five years, Butterball reported in a press release.
Among this growth is the trend to move toward healthful options, the company said, adding that in a recent industry article, Technomic EVP Darren Tristano said, "[Turkey] is becoming increasingly popular for breakfast. Consumers are comfortable eating turkey bacon and turkey sausage, and that trend will continue to increase." Technomic research also confirms that more consumers would consider ordering turkey (over chicken) for a breakfast sandwich.
Butterball has released a variety of turkey breakfast/brunch ideas for operators interested in capitalizing on the trend, including:
