Video: Caroline Wozniacki was asked about Rory McIlroy's ankle injury after Wimbledon loss
Danish tennis star Caroline Wozniacki looked more than a little peeved at Wimbledon yesterday when she was asked a question about her ex-fiancé's ankle injury.
Rory McIlroy has refused to rule himself out of next week's British Open despite sustaining what he described as "a total rupture" of his ankle ligaments in a kickabout with friends but his chances of making the field at St Andrew's appear remote.
There has been a lot of reaction to the injury since McIlroy broke the news on social media yesterday but one person who was probably hoping to avoid a question on the subject was Wozniacki.
A reporter asked her: "Do you have any messages for Rory McIlroy who sustained an injury to his ankle today?"
Her response was to bite her lip and ignore the question before glancing at a moderator who promptly said: "We'll stick to tennis questions."
Then the conference ended.
The 24-year-old hit is out of Wimbledon following her 6-4, 6-4 loss to Spain's Garbine Muguruza in the fourth round.
