Shivaay vs Ae Dil Hai Mushkil: Box office battle on Diwali 2016
The box office will be set on fire on Diwali 2016, when Ranbir Kapoor's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Ajay Devgan's Shivaay are released simultaneously.
The box office is all set to be on fire next Diwali. After an Eid release for Shah Rukh Khan's Raees and Salman Khan's Sultan in 2016, fireworks at the cash registers will be seen next year, with a clash between Ranbir Kapoor's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Ajay Devgn's directorial Shivaay on Diwali.

Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is directing Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and has cast Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma in the lead, took to Twitter to announce the date of the release of the film:

The recce for the film has already kick-started and it will go on floors this October, after Ranbir wraps up Jagga Jasoos and Aishwarya is done with Jazbaa.

It is quite evident that Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will clash with Ajay Devgn's Shivaay, which is also scheduled to release on the same day. At present, Ajay is busy promoting his upcoming thriller drama Drishyam, which also stars Shriya Saran, Tabu and Rajat Kapoor. The film will release on July 31.
