GURGAON: Maruti Suzuki India Limited on Monday said it has suspended the general secretary of the Maruti Udyog Kamgar Union for slapping a company executive on Saturday. "Kuldeep Jhanghu slapped a company executive in the office premises and has been suspended, pending inquiry," a company spokesman told TOI.
Jhanghu, however, denied the allegations and said he was being targeted unnecessarily.
"On Saturday, a casual worker had complained to me that a manager had verbally abused him. There have been such incidents in the past as well. When I confronted the manager, he flatly denied that he had abused the worker. A heated argument followed, but I did not slap him," he said. All the four main Maruti workers' union are in talks with the management and have demanded that the suspension be revoked.
