Connecticut man charged with biting off part of service worker's nose
Man allegedly became angry when woman took wrong turn
Vernon, Connecticut, police said a 33-year-old man has been arrested after a social services worker driving him to a medical appointment reported he bit off part of her nose.
Police said the woman told officers that the man, who has a history of psychiatric conditions, became angry when she made a wrong turn.
She called 911 from a parking lot at about 9:15 a.m. Monday and was taken to Hartford Hospital. The man had run away.
Police said Aaron Goodwin Olmsted was taken into custody about a half-hour later in South Windsor, where he lives, after a search by nearby police departments.
Olmsted is being held on $500,000 bail on charges of first-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment.
It is not immediately known if he has a lawyer to comment.
