Highly sought four-star prospect Jake Moretti, an offensive tackle from Pomona, orally committed to Ohio State on Saturday. Moretti announced his decision on Twitter.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound lineman will be a junior in the fall, and chose the Buckeyes over offers from other top tier Division I programs, including Cal, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, UCLA, USC and Wisconsin.

Moretti was recruited by former Colorado State running back Tony Alford (Doherty High School, Colorado Springs), who played while current Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer was on the Rams’ coaching staff.

Moretti also received offers from Colorado and CSU.

The offensive lineman helped lead the Panthers to a 9-3 mark last season, and fell to state runner-up Valor Christian in the Class 5A state quarterfinals.
