CHANDIGARH: Finally the villagers fixed July 21 as the date for innaugration of the Rs one crore bridge on Ghaggar passing through Panihari and Aleeka village of Sirsa district. The 25-member committee of nine villages involved in construction of bridge has decided against sending any kind of special invitation for politicians and officials of administration.

Major Singh, one of the key member of the committee and the finance controller of the bridge committee said that Bridge will be inaugurated by Mahant Brahm Dass and a head of Namdhari sact.
" We had section of members who had asked to send invites to local administration officers like CTM, SDM or DC. But, most of the members were of the opinion that why should we give them importance when they have failed to make even a single contribution. What to talk of appreciation none of them even bothered to guide the team in construction, hence we decided to have our own function," said Major Singh.
Each and every member of the families living in the villages involved in construction and those who have contributed directly or indirectly towards the construction are our special guests. We are all a family and we have open invitation to all through media and social media. Anybody who has attachment with us all can join in, added Major Singh.
It may be recalled that after their requests for construction of a bridge on seasonal river Ghaggar failed to bring result over past four decades, residents of nine villages decided to construct a bridge at their own.
Raised at the cost of Rs one crore which was crowd funded was started in April 13, 2014 after Mahant Braham Dass laid the foundation stone. This bridge has been designed by experts headed by a Rajsthan based engineer.
