MANGALURU: Vittal in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district recorded maximum rainfall of 29mm in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on July 6. Siruguppa hobli in Siruguppa taluk of Ballari district recorded maximum temperature of 39°C at 2.45pm on July 5. Javali hobli in Mudigere taluk of Chikkamagaluru district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 17°C from at 5.15am on July 6, G S Srinivasa Reddy, director, KSNDMC stated.

More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 42% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 0% geographical area in the state. Rainfall over the state is considered as isolated since 4% of hoblis and gram panchayats recorded rainfall of =2.5mm. Moderate rain was recorded in 50 gram panchayats; light rain in 119 gram panchayats; very light rain in 272 gram panchayats; and no rainfall in remaining 4,498 GPs across the state.
Karnataka for period from June 30 to July 6 recorded 77% deficit rainfall. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 65mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 15mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on July 6, four geographical regions received 0.5mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 9mm, a 95% deficit departure from weighted-average normal.
