Father-in-law murders son-in-law

The police have arrested A. Radhakrishnan (69), a retired sub-registrar, and his son R. Sivaraman on the charge of killing Muralidharan.

A 45-year-old man was murdered allegedly by his father-in-law in Srirangam on Sunday. The deceased B. Muralidharan (45), a native of Alli Nagaram in Theni district, was involved in real estate business.

The police have arrested A. Radhakrishnan (69), a retired sub-registrar, and his son R. Sivaraman on the charge of killing Muralidharan. Police said Radhakrishnan had arranged loans for his son-in-law Muralidharan engaged in real estate business.

As the loan and the interest were not repaid, the pressure was mounting on Radhakrishnan. He attacked Muralidharan with a hammer on his head in the former’s house in the early hours of Sunday upset for non-repayment of loan and interest. The badly injured Muralidharan succumbed to injuries a few hours later at the Tiruchi Government Hospital.
