The Kong Show samples some fine Mexican food in Tokyo

Sachiko Shimizu quit her job as an OL and traveled to Mexico to follow her dreams and learned how to make Mexican sandwiches (torta). Then she came back to Japan, gave herself a Mexican name, "Sachi-ta," bought a food truck and painted it yellow adding a colorful Mexican motif. Now she's attracting customers hungry for a "south of the U.S. border" experience by surfing the newest food boom in Japan (partially due to the arrival of Taco Bell), serving her own unique and creative brand of Mexican sandwiches.

Sachi-ta's food truck was recently featured in the fashionable Japanese magazine ELLE, and in our short video interview, you can see pictures of her truck, her happy customers and her food creations. And, if you find yourself with a hankering for one of her delicious sandwiches, you can find her truck by checking the schedule on her website below.
