KARACHI: Pakistan heaved a sigh of relief when tennis ace Aisam-ul-Haq confirmed his availability to compete in the upcoming Davis Cup Asia Oceania zone group two second round tie against Indonesia on the latter’s soil from July 14 to 16.

“Aisam has recovered from his knee injury and was competing at the Wimbledon,” his doubles partner Aqeel Khan told Dawn from Islamabad.

Aisam will reach Jakarta from London directly to feature in the contest, Aqeel added. He said another player Samir Iftikhar will also come to Jakarta from the US.

Meanwhile, two players of the quartet accompanied by an official namely Aqeel Khan, Abid Ali Akbar and non-playing captain Hameed-ul-Haq will fly to the Indonesian capital from Islamabad on Monday evening via Bangkok.
