Two police personnel — Sorimuthupandian, Special Sub Inspector of Police, and Muthukumar, police constable, — were placed under suspension on the charge of taking bribe from a load vehicle driver.
They were involved in a vehicle check operation under the Sambavarvadakarai police limit. Superintendent of Police V. Vikraman placed them under suspension based on a report from Assistant Superintendent of Police Tenkasi.
Stringent action would be taken against any police personnel acting mala fide, the SP said.
