Local trains to depart from Shivajinagar

Ten Lonavla-bound local trains and six passenger trains scheduled for Daund-Solapur and Satara will operate from Shivajinagar, Hadapsar and Ghorpadi instead of the Pune station, between 8am and 3pm, on Monday, following a special traffic block for the construction of a foot overbridge (FOB) connecting platform numbers one, two and three.

PUNE: Ten Lonavla-bound local trains and six passenger trains scheduled for Daund-Solapur and Satara will operate from Shivajinagar, Hadapsar and Ghorpadi instead of the Pune station, between 8am and 3pm, on Monday, following a special traffic block for the construction of a foot overbridge (FOB) connecting platform numbers one, two and three.
Railway officials said that operations of all other trains including long distance trains and Mumbai-bound trains such as Deccan Queen, Pragati, Sinhagad and Sahyadri will not face any disruptions as the administration will operate these trains from platform number four, five and six.
Trains operating from platform number one, two and three will remain shut.
The passenger trains that will operate from Hadapsar include Manmad-Pune, Pune-Solapur, Pune-Daund and Daund-Pune shuttles. Trains that will either terminate or depart from Ghorpadi station include Satara-Pune and Pune-Kolhapur passenger. Officials said that provisions have been made for the smooth running of trains.
The railway administration has been working on an additional FOB at Pune station since last year. The foundation work was completed few months back. Administration now plans to work on girders on Monday.
Officials said that FOB will be made open to passengers in the next couple of months.
