Is the harsh Sun taking the freshness and oomph out of your wardrobe? If yes, then it’s time to slip into some happy hues!
Playful, fresh and flamboyant – shades of yellows and greens are ruling the stylo-meters of city’s fashionistas this summer! Slip into a tangy lemon tee or a chirpy fluorescent green dress, and let the colours work their magic.
“These are the must-wear colours for this season.
I’d suggest a lemon yellow dress for that extra zing and freshness,” says designer Abdul Halder. And these fresh hues look good in all fabrics like cotton, linen, etc.
“It is natural that everyone wants to sport the ‘in’ colours, but the outfit type and colour should be chosen according to the occasion. Also, the cut of a dress can either enhance or mar the colour,” says designer Ranna Gill.
Citrus colours allow for diverse accessorising opportunities too, so you can go in for a sunshine yellow bag or a pair of stilettos in electric green. Adds Ranna, “Lemon citrine and buttercup gold are colours that mark new beginnings.”
Oft referred to as the tricky colours, here’s how to wear them right and bright. “Yellow is hot. But since it does not go well with all skin tones, one should be careful about sporting it,” says Thenny, adding, “Tanned skin and yellow is a complete no-no.”
“Avoid wearing yellow pants,” says Abdul. However, Amit Sandhu, a model, thinks otherwise. Says he, “If you have the attitude then don’t be afraid to slip into a pair of yellow or green trousers.”
