NBA Rumor Roundup

Jeff Hanisch/USA TODAY Sports

Here is a look at some of the top NBA rumors for Sunday, July 5:

  • There isn't a player remaining on the free-agent market who can fully replace DeAndre Jordan in the Los Angeles Clippers frontcourt, but the team has a number of players they are considering to fill the role, including JaVale McGee. "The team was expected to speak with the free-agent center, one league executive said, as well as to veteran power forward-center Amar'e Stoudemire 'in the next day or so,'" wrote Ben Bloch of the LA Times. "The Clippers have also had discussions about bringing center Ryan Hollins back after he spent last season with the Sacramento Kings."

  • Andre Drummond is scheduled to make $3.2 million next season and about $21 million the following campaign, if he were to sign an extension this offseason. The Detroit Pistons have no intention of letting him go, so the question is whether they will ink him to an extension this summer or next offseason. Per Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press, the ball is in Drummond's court. "The Pistons will discuss the situation with Drummond and his agent, but if he insists, they will go ahead and get the extension done this summer," Ellis wrote.

  • Manu Ginobili is expected to announce whether he will retire soon. Will he be back for the 2015-16 campaign? "ESPN sources say Aldridge arrival in San Antonio will lead Spurs to lobby Ginobili even harder to play one more year. NEED him for depth now," tweeted ESPN NBA Insider Marc Stein. "So we await Manu's La Nacion column in Argentina revealing decision to play on or retire ... but safe bet is he gives Spurs one more season"
