It was more than a year ago when German F1 legend Michael Schumacher got out of his induced coma and even with less specific news about his condition, fans are still wishing him well.

On Twitter, fans have been expressing their well wishes through the hashtag #KeepFightingMichael. Even his former Mercedes team has #KeepFightingMichael messages on their cards.

Schumacher suffered head injuries in a skiing accident up at the French Alps last December 2013. Since September 2014, he has been staying at his home in Lake Geneva while continuing his rehabilitation.

Sabine Kehm, Schumacher's manager, gave an update last May, and she said that the race car driver is making painfully slow progress although there is no clear encouragement of his status. Metro reported that the family is spending around £100,000 a week to look after him. Kehm also asked fans to keep in mind that Schumacher's condition and injuries are very serious and that it would take time for a recovery. While this information is scarce, it is the most positive update yet of the 46-year-old's condition.

Because of the rarity of information, some fans only rely on speculations. Several reports claimed that Schumacher can already recognize his family and close friends, but racing driver Philippe Streiff said that Schumacher still needs to recover his memory. Apparently, the race car driver also has speech problems.

But Kehm appealed to the public not to believe hearsays, stating that Schumacher's progress is appropriate to the severity of his situation and that this will be a long, hard fight for the F1 racer, stated Eurosports.

Even Bernie Ecclestone, a good friend of Schumacher and chief executive of Formula One, did not give that much encouragement, saying he wants to remember Schumacher as he was and not the way he is at the moment, Independent.ie noted.

Schumacher will always be remembered as a record holder of 91 race wins, seven championships and the countless drives that made him a household name in the Formula One arena.

The Schumacher family has since asked for utmost privacy. However, they did not fail to thank everyone through Schumacher's relaunched website. The family's message reads, "Your Strength is helping us. Still, we receive wishes for Michael to get well soon every day and still, we are stunned by the sheer amount of sympathies. We can only always thank you for facing this fight together with him and with us. We remain confident and hope the best for Michael. Your strength is helping to keep supporting him. #keeptfightingmichael".

True enough, fans can only wish for the best as a support to the family as they and everyone else wait for the legendary racer's health progress.
