ALLAHABAD: There was jubilation in A N Jha and S S L Hostels of Allahabad University when the result of Civil Services Examination-2014, conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), was declared on Saturday. Many of the hostellers cleared the coveted exam.
Manoj Kumar Pandey (all India rank 305), who passed Civil Services Examination-2014 conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in his first attempt on Saturday, said: “One should never consider that hard work goes waste.”
Manoj, who had failed to qualify PCS-2013, the results of which were declared by UP Public Service Commission recently, said, “Success becomes even more sweet, when it comes after a series of failures.
Aspirants preparing for the exams should focus on strength and positive aspects during preparation and leave the rest to God.”
Pandey, belonging to a small city of Basti, has done his BA and MA from Allahabad University. He is presently doing research in micro-level planning from the university. He gave the credit of his success to his parents.
Similarly, Mohit Mishra, all-India ranker 687, credited his success to his father and friends. “I always believe in ‘perfecting’ in whatever I do and I advise the same to others. It is not that I have not faced failure but I took these failures as my strength,” said Mishra.
Vinod Kumar Yadav, (all-India rank 1015) believes that failures are the barriers and one needs to cross barriers to be successful. Nagesh Pandey was another aspirant selected from the city.
