Uttarakhand has been put on high alert after the Meteorological Department predicted heavy rains to lash the state over a 24 hour period, beginning Sunday evening.
According to reports, Uttarakhand chief secretary N Ravishankar has asked all district magistrates to take precautionary measures, especially in the Uttarkashi, Tehri Garhwal, Pithoragarh districts. He has also urged all DMs to take all precautionary measures to ensure full safety of pilgrims along the Chardham Yatra route. (ANI)
