Head over heels... From friends to family for Lynne & Barry
Like lots of Irish couples, Lynne and Barry originally met at secondary school, but it wasn't until after the pair had been travelling the world, and returned home some seven years later, that the romance began. They ran into each other in a bar and spent the night reminiscing.
Together ever since, Lynne and Barry now have a three-year-old daughter, Anya. Whilst on holiday in Spain with Anya, Lynne and Barry took an evening stroll along the beach. Barry plucked up the courage to pop the question, Lynne forced him to drop to one knee - and then, of course, she said yes.
For the wedding, they wanted to celebrate very informally with the focus on having a fun time with family and friends. They chose Glendalough House, in their home county of Wicklow, for the ceremony and reception. The venue was filled with bright colours, hand-picked and arranged flowers, and the guests enjoyed a delicious barbecue meal from BBQ Joes, before dancing the night away.
They have some solid advice for anyone planning their wedding: "Try to relax, step back from the planning now and again and ask yourself 'do we really need this?'. This is about you as a couple and you should have that at the front of your mind at all times. Once you are happy, then your guests will be too, so be true to yourself."
For their honeymoon, Lynne, Barry and Anya went south to the Ring of Kerry and were blessed with a rare Irish heatwave.
