: The Kerala State Coastal Area Development Corporation (KSCADC) launched its own brand of dry fish, Drish Kerala, here on Saturday.

The three brands of solar dried prawns and anchovies were launched by Minister for Fisheries and Excise K. Babu at a brief function. The brands have been named Neendakara, Ashtamudi and Malabar.

The Minister said the State government planned to promote fish products through the KSCADC. By introducing its own brands, the corporation planned to find a niche for its high-end, high-quality products, he added.

The fish and prawns are procured directly from fishermen and are processed at the Shaktikulangara plant of the corporation.

Luidi Luis and Dominic Presentation, MLAs; Mini Antony, Fisheries Director; and K. Ampady, Managing Director of KSCADC; were among those present at the launch.
