Rajpura: Congress deputy leader in Lok Sabha, Captain Amarinder Singh said the decision to permit Indian Airlines' IC-814 plane from Amritsar airport was a case of "indecision" and "irresponsibility" on part of the Union cabinet secretary.
"They should have stopped the aircraft at Amritsar. According to what I am reading in newspapers, the then Punjab DGP Sarabjit Singh had asked Delhi for action, but it didn't respond.
In fact, K P S Gill claims that he had made two calls to the then cabinet secretary, but alleged that he didn't take them. This is a case of indecision and irresponsibility on the part of the cabinet secretary," Amarinder said here on Friday.
Saying that revelations made by former Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) chief A S Dulat in his book may be correct, Amarinder said, "Dulat served as RAW chief for four years and also remained Prime Minister's representative to Jammu and Kashmir. Why would he write untrue facts?"
