These East, West Delhi Localities to Face Water Shortage Due to Pipeline Repairs

Due to repair work in 1100-mm diameter emanating from Haiderpur Water Works Phase-I, water supply will not be available in the evening of July 4 and morning of July 5

New Delhi: Regular water supply will be affected in the coming two days in several localities of West and East Delhi owing to repair works being undertaken by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB).

The areas to be affected include, Subhash Nagar, Rani Bagh, Jail Road, Saraswati Garden, Tagore Garden, Tilak Nagar, Rajouri Garden, Ashok Vihar, Ramesh Nagar, Shakurpur Village, Moti Nagar and partly some areas of Uttam Nagar, Punjabi Bagh, Kirti Nagar and Pitampura.

"Due to repair work in 1100-mm diameter emanating from Haiderpur Water Works Phase-I, water supply will not be available in the evening of July 4 and morning of July 5," said a statement by Delhi Jal Board (DJB).

Residents of these areas were advised to store sufficient quantity of water in advance.

Water tankers for West Delhi residents will be available at the following telephone numbers: 25221181, 25222400, 25222401 (Punjabi Bagh Water Emergency), 25193140 (Shivaji Enclave Water Emergency), 27304656 (Ashok Vihar) and 1916, 23538495, 23527679 (Central Control Room), the statement said.

Also, water supply in several areas of East Delhi like Vinod Nagar East and West, IP Extension, Mandawali Village, Vasundhara Societies, New Ashok Nagar, Kondli Village, Mandawali Unchepar and adjoining areas will remain affected on Monday evening due to repair work at GK mains.

Water tankers for these areas will be available at 22727812, 22724037 (Mandawali Water Emergency), 1916, 23527679, 23538495 (Central Control Room), DJB said.
