THANE: Thane civic commissioner Sanjeev Jaiswal has initiated a prompt redressal mechanism for citizen’s complaints on civic issues by personally going through the plains mailed to the civic body’s email address. He then routes it to the concerned official for swift solutions and ensures a follow up.
The civic chief’s office receives nearly 100 communications daily and he makes it a point to ensure there is a redressal mechanism in place for reasonable complaints, said an official from Jaiswal’s office.

Recently, during heavy rains, a resident had mailed Jaiswal about water-logging in Kharkar Aali and he is believed to have responded instantly. “We had conveyed the message of water-logging in our area. Jaiswal was inspecting spots of water-logging and after receiving our complaint, he visited the spot and ensured his staff got the problem solved,” said the resident.
A senior official said that Jaiswal had started a group of senior officials on a social networking site asking them to update him about the happenings in the city.
