Milan signs on Adriano
Brazilian striker Luiz Adriano’s goalscoring exploits for Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in last season’s Champions League earned him a move to Italian giants AC Milan on Thursday, the buying club announced on its website.
The 28-year-old — who along with Lionel Messi, Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo scored nine goals in last season’s Champions League including five in one game against Belarussian outfit BATE Borisov — signed a five-year contract for a reported fee of $8.8million.
“Luiz Adriano signed a contract which will tie him to AC Milan till June 30 2020,” Milan announced on its Twitter account.
