In a touching gesture, Spoorthi Foundation has come forward to support the couple who had married recently after going through some traumatised moments recently.
Lella Appireddy, president of the foundation, gave Rs. 20,000 to Munnagi Rajesh and T. Nagamani, who got married on Sunday, a day after undergoing agonising moments at Vemuru on Friday night. Besides the cash gift, the couple was given a pair of new dress.
“The couple has shown the way in dealing with such trauma. Their love endured the trauma and agony of an assault and decided to turn a new leaf in their lives,’’ said Mr. Appireddy.
Former MLC K.S. Lakshmana Rao said that the couple should be appreciated for the courage they have shown in facing the problem.
The couple was planning to go to Hyderabad in search of a better life, when a gang, which included an army man, allegedly molested the woman after assaulting Rajesh. Rajesh, who dialled the police, was instrumental in identifying the accused, who have been arrested by the police.
Showing the way
