Nine surrender in DMDK functionary’s murder case

Nine persons surrendered before the Judicial Magistrate-V in Coimbatore on Friday in connection with the murder of Balasubramaniam (42), a former district deputy secretary of DMDK.

The DMDK functionary was murdered in Udumalpet on Thursday.

The persons who surrendered were identified as M. Karnan (30), K. Suresh (34), M. Muruganantham (25), M. Logesh (23), C. Kalimuthu (25), P. Arjun (27), S. Mubarak (24), M. Tamil Selvan (33) and R. Prem Kumar (26), sources said.

They will be under judicial custody till July 16 and have been lodged in Coimbatore Central Prison.

Tirupur

Meanwhile, six persons were taken into custody for questioning in connection with the case in Tirupur.
