JAMMU, July 3: A woman was killed while three persons including a 7-8 month old child were injured when their car rolled down and fell into a deep Gorge in Chowki Choura area of Akhnoor.
According to a police spokesperson, the deceased have been identified as Zubeda Begum (60) wife of Mohd Iqbal, a resident of Rajouri, a man namely Asif, a lady namely Tamana Quershi and a 7-8 month old baby.
The mishap occurred this morning at about 8.30 am when the victims were going from Jammu to Rajouri in their car, which suddenly rolled down and fell into a 50-60 feet deep gorge at Chowki Choura.
On getting information of the mishap, Chowki Choura police reached the spot and evicted the victims from badly damaged car and shifted them to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where one of the victims namely Zubeda Begum was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
The body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites after conducting autopsy. A case in this regard has been registered at concerned police station.
