Vietnam businesses charge abroad as home market opens up

HANOI -- Vietnamese companies are intensifying efforts to expand overseas, expecting more foreign competition in their home market as new trade deals are signed.

     The Southeast Asian nation, which has grown into a manufacturing hub for electronic equipment and sewn products, is part of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal being negotiated by 12 countries and has signed free trade agreements with South Korea and the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union.
