Hull Kingston Rovers have signed centre Thomas Minns from Leeds Rhinos on a three-year deal, starting from 2016.

Minns, 20, has been on loan to Championship side Featherstone, scoring four tries in 12 games and was at London Broncos last term.

He has played three Super League games for the Rhinos, with a total of seven tries in 26 Super League games.

"He's only 20 years of age and he's young and hungry," coach Chris Chester told BBC Radio Humberside.

"I'm delighted to have secured his signature and I know a few other teams were after him as well."

Minns added:, external "I've been told what Hull KR have planned next year and I want to be part of that.

"I'm really looking forward to having a new challenge and a stable place where I can get my head down and focus on playing my rugby."

The deal coincides with Rhinos team-mate Jamie Peacock taking up a position of football manager at Rovers in 2016.
