First of all, the single-owner sale is called Frederiksen Collection and will be held at the owner’s home in Denmark. Not only are these beauties old, but we are talking about some of the early models the world’s most exclusive manufacturers have built. Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Mercedes-Benz, Lagonda, and Maybach are all part of that list.
Housed on the grounds of Lyngsbaekgaard, a 16th-century manor house built for Danish Royalty, the collection offers access to a personal museum of cars from pivotal points in early motoring history. In terms of favorites, the exclusivist auto collector claims he only used the ex-J.D. Rockefeller Bentley and the Cadillac the most, while all the other beauties were chosen “with the heart and not with the brain.”
Organized by Bonhams, the sale will take place on September 26 and clearly qualifies for one of the rarest of the sort the renown auction house ever handled.
“Rarely does one see a single-owner collection that showcases such a broad variety of important brands, and yet still keeps to such a clear, historical theme where manufacturers pursue motoring perfection. It's truly remarkable," said Bonhams co-chairman, Malcolm Barber.
