Kerry drop Colm Cooper in Munster final bombshell

The Dr Crokes wizard made his return to inter-county football after knee ligament damage in the semi-final victory over Tipperary, and scored three points against the Premier County.

But in a team that shows five changes, Cooper (right) is among those to lose his place.

There are changes in all lines of the field, except the half-back line, as boss Eamonn Fitzmaurice juggles his pack.

Jonathan Lyne retains his place despite the return to fitness of All-Star wing-back Paul Murphy, who is named among the subs.

Fionn Fitzgerald replaces Mark Griffin in the full-back line and fit-again All-Star midfielder David Moran comes in for Anthony Maher.

Further forward, Stephen O'Brien and Donnchadh Walsh replace Michael Geaney and Cooper, with Footballer of the Year James O'Donoghue taking Paul Geaney's place at corner-forward.

Cork boss Brian Cuthbert has made two changes, with former dual star Eoin Cadogan and Fintan Goold replacing Conor Dorman and Conor O'Driscoll.

Meanwhile, Paddy Stapleton is Tipperary's main injury concern ahead of the Munster senior hurling final against Waterford on Sunday week, July 12.

The Borrisoleigh corner-back went off with a groin injury against Limerick in the semi-final victory at the Gaelic Grounds.

Michael Cahill, who replaced Stapleton, is pushing hard for a start but 2014 Young Hurler of the Year Cathal Barrett is another option at corner-back.

Barrett missed the Allianz League semi-final defeat to Waterford and the Limerick game with a shoulder injury but was given the all-clear to resume full training following scans on Monday.

Tipp boss Eamon O'Shea confirmed last night: "Paddy is probably the most serious."
