Juvenile bench in district court Myagdi

BABIYACHAUR: A juvenile bench has been established at the District Court in Myagdi.

Child-friendly room and bench have been set up in order to increase the access of children to justice. The juvenile bench has been established to concentrate on research and prosecution of cases related to children, said record keeper at the Court Gokarna Raj Pant.

So far, 56 district courts have already set up juvenile benches. The juvenile bench also includes psychosocial counseling facilities.

The bench aims to rehabilitate children back into society through reforms and not by punishing them like elders, said District Judge Gayatri Prasad Regmi.

A juvenile justice committee has also been formed to make the juvenile bench effective.
