Jagat meets CM, ‘clears’ air on Varun-Modi row
JAIPUR: BJP MLA from Kaman (Bharatpur), Kunwar Jagat Singh, had one-and-half hour meeting with chief minister Vasundhara Raje in Jaipur on Wednesday. Government sources say that Jagat called on the CM at her official residence at Civil Lines here.
While Raje is battling against allegations for her association with the former IPL boss Lalit Modi, expelled Congress leader Natwar Singh’s son, Jagat, had on Wednesday tweeted that he had facilitated meeting between Varun Gandhi and Modi at the latter's London residence.

What transpired in the meeting is still unknown but party insiders say that chief minister reportedly rebuked Jagat for his tweet, which vindicated Lalit Modi claim about meeting with Varun Gandhi. Jagat had contradicted the BJP Sultanpur MP, Varun Gandhi, who had claimed that he had a chance meeting with Lalit Modi in London three years ago following a request by Jagat Singh.
“Jagat probably clarified Raje about what led him to tweet about Varun-Modi meeting that he had organised,” said an insider. Jagat could not be contacted for his comments on Thursday.
Jagat tweeted, “Meeting was at behest of Varun Gandhi. Got a call from LM a week later. Most upset. Shocked at what he had to say.”
