LUCKNOW: Senior UP government officers ‘dared to disturb’ Vrindavan's Banke Bihari on the night of June 30. CCTV footage of the temple premises for June 30 caught them feasting on prasad.
The footage has now gone viral post and temple management committee has served notices on two temple ‘Goswamis’ (priest on duty for the day) who allowed the VIPs’ entry.

There was a gathering of around 75 for whom there was elaborate arrangement on the temple premises at 9.56pm and doors of the temple were opened past the hours of ‘darshan’.
The notice served on priests Anand Kishore and Jugal Kishore Goswami said, entertaining the VIP guests in the night and getting the doors to the sanctum sanctorum opened is violation of the temple’s sanctity and amounts to disturbing Thakur ji (Lord Krishna)’s rest.
This also was in contravention of October 30, 2004 court order which said: “At the time of Thakurji's rest, ban is imposed on eating of kachchi rasoi (rice, dal, kheer, kadhi etc). The manager is directed to impose ban on eating of kachchi rasoi on the temple premises.”
The management committee has directed the two priests to explain within 24 hours and warned action against them otherwise.
The UP government officials were in the district to review progress of development work.
