AHMEDABAD: A distraught father, Pankaj Mandal, awaits his son's body to arrive in Nadiad from Hamburg on Wednesday. He is yet to be told how his only son, pursuing MTech in Germany, died in a university library. Ankur Mandal, 26, was found dead in Technische Universität Hamburg Library on June 30 by an attendant. The German police and the embassy is yet to reveal to Pankaj the postmortem report and the circumstances under which Ankur's body was found.

Ankur was preparing a powerpoint presentation of his project and was busy for the last few days. On June 29, he shifted out of his previous accommodation in Hamburg and moved to a new flat. The same night, Ankur had decided to spend the night preparing for the presentation at the library, as it was scheduled to be held the following day. Ankur had done his BTech from UV Patel College in Ganpath University and was working with Ferromatik Milacron Ltd.
"I don't know what happened. It was after his friend Vandit Raval informed us that we came to know of his death. The Indian embassy is helping us. We are awaiting the arrival of his body," says Pankaj.
