BMTC bus day on July 4

BENGALURU: The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) in observing Bus Day on Saturday, July 4 to ensure maximum public participation. The Bus Day in this month will be observed in the following corridors: Old Airport Road (ITPL) 2. Sarjapura Road, 3. Hosur Road 4. Bannerghatta Road 5. Kanakapura Road 6. Mysore Road, 7. Magadi Road 8. Tumkur Road 9. Bellary Road 10.Thanisandra Road 11. Hennur Road & 12. Old Madras Road.
Over and above the normal operation of 6225 schedules with 76233 trips, arrangements have been made to operate all the schedules without any cancellation and also to extend the operation of more than 1500 General shift schedules beyond their normal schedule timing to 22 hours on this day thereby adding additional trips to accommodate additional demand.
The goal of BMTC in observing Bus Day is cater to the needs of the people, improved mobility and reduction in air pollution in the Metropolis through decongestion of traffic by marginalization of personalized mode of transport with the support of other stakeholders such as Bangalore Traffic Police and Transport Department to further enhance travel experience in Bangalore by BMTC.
