    Bizmen, government leaders to deliberate at 'Horasis India' meeting

    NEW DELHI: Over 300 decision makers, including industrialists and government leaders, will take part in the 'Horasis India' meeting at Interlaken, Switzerland from July 5 to deliberate on the future of the Indian economy and suggest measures to build its growth momentum.

    Bajaj Auto Chairman Rahul Bajaj, Suzlon Energy Chairman Tulsi Tanti, Tata Communications Chairman Subodh Bhargava, Forbes Marshall Director Naushad Forbes, Religare Enterprises Chairman Sunil Godhwani, among others, are expected to participate in the two-day conference.

    Besides, Railways Suresh Prabhu has confirmed his participation, CII said in a statement.

    Frank-Jürgen Richter, Chairman, Horasis, said: "The Horasis India meeting is the foremost annual gathering of Indian business leaders and their global counterparts.

    "The meeting will engage participants to provide a holistic and timely perspective on the future direction for India".

    The meeting is co-hosted by the Swiss Canton of Bern and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and is supported by a set of partner organizations, including All India Management Association (AIMA) and Swiss-Indian Chamber of Commerce.

    A key highlight of the meeting will be a special lecture by spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on how Indian values and karma can help business leaders attain their goals.

    "2015 marked a special year for India. All multilateral organisations, including World Bank, United Nations have agreed that India will be the fastest growing larger economy of the world, surpassing China.

    "The newly elected government has completed one year in 2015 and launched a range of reform initiatives, including Make in India, Digital India, Swacch Bharat, Smart Cities, among others.

    "But most importantly, this new government has been able to set a new economic vision for India," the CII statement pointed out.

    Government representatives from other countries who have confirmed participation include Pravin Gordhan, Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, South Africa; Hans-Jürg Käser, President and State Councillor, Canton of Bern, Switzerland; Johannes Matyassy, Assistant State Secretary for Asia Pacific, Switzerland, etc.

    The Horasis India meeting is open to CEOs from India and the world's leading companies.

    Earlier editions of the meeting were held in Munich (2009), Madrid (2010), Naples (2011), Antwerp (2012), Belfast (2013) and Liverpool (2014).

    Horasis hosts annual meetings to advance solutions to the most critical challenges facing corporations today.

    In addition to the Horasis India meeting, Horasis holds meetings in China, Russia and the Arab world.
