PR and Media Executive Louise Creedon

Independent.ie Newsdesk

Louise was born and raised in Dublin. She completed a degree in Commerce & French with UCD, and then took up a marketing role in Dublin before moving west.

When did you join Connacht?

August 2012.

What do you do?

I manage all Media and PR activity for the senior and Academy squads as well as looking after the website and all social media for the professional team.

What's a typical day like?

As everyone working in professional sport will say, no two days are the same. Mondays consist of meetings - with the head coach, management team, different players as well as a press conference with the media. I'm involved in all match days, including away trips, so it helps to have a good working relationship with everyone.

What is the best part of your job?

The most satisfying thing is seeing the positive result of everyone's hard work, not only the senior team on the pitch but all the different parts of the organisation coming together. When other people are genuinely interested about what you do and where you work, it reminds you how lucky you are to be in the position. It's a feeling of pride.

Most memorable match?

Toulouse away, December 2013. When I saw what it meant to the senior players and backroom staff, I felt so lucky to be a part of it. Watching my Munster born parents (now Connacht converts) celebrate Kieran Marmion's New Year's Day try with the supporters in the Clan Stand was also special.
