HUBBALLI: While reams have been written about the role of a mother, Kuber Nagaraj Kalburgi, 22, has written a book 'Value of Mother in 10 Pages' which aims to reach school children through its illustrations and peppy writing.
Kuber, who has an MBA degree, has floated a company called '10 Pages' to bring out such books. "Currently, I'm the only employee of the company.
I don't have any intentions of making profits through it. I'd like to focus on human relationships which are losing importance in this era. As part of this series, the first book is about the mother," he said.
"I'd like to spend the profits from this book on orphans. I'll arrange a platform for orphans and other children. I request parents to call orphans 'our chidlren','' he said.
He has a family business of selling clocks and watches. "Usually, I work there and my parents are very supportive of my social cause. Though I get some amount from my family business, I'd like to create a regular revenue source for 10 Pages by writing and selling books," he said.
Asked what motivates him to do it, he said he suffered serious head injuries in an accident. "Virtually on my death bed, I realized the importance of human relationships. When I recovered, I thought I should do something for orphans," he said.
Amogh Gundu, manager, Mass Business Solutions, who is selling the book among students, said they're enthusiastic about the book. "They like the book because the story is in simple language and illustrations speak a lot," he said.
Sonali Shalghar, who bought a copy of the book, said, "When I finished the book, my eyes were filled %with tears."
