With strong performances by child artistes, music by Mauris Lazarus and costumes by Priyesh Pal, the production received a lot of appreciation. The play, written by Alakhnandan and staged at Jawahar Bal Bhavan, emphasised that every individual is dependent on another.
This was conveyed through a stubborn bird Saloni, played by Anuradha Chouhan, whose mature acting wowed the audience.
Saloni finds a food grain and perches on a branch. But, the grain sticks to the wood. The bird demands the tree return the grain to her, which says it will, provided she comes back the next day at five in the morning. The bird disagrees, and forces the tree to return the grain immediately. She threatens to create trouble for the tree and approaches everyone in the forest. Her stubborn attitude, in the end, lands her in a soup. She finally realises her folly and learns that being selfish can do no good.
Sharp dialogue delivery, natural acting by the child artistes and musical interludes made the play an effective one. The highlight was the song Zid Na Karna, which was played during the curtain call.
