VARANASI: The Banaras Hindu University has planned to organise series of events under the ‘Digital India Week’ campaign. The campaign, on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was launched in New Delhi on Wednesday to make citizens aware about the e-governance programme for public services.
PK Chakravarty, coordinator of Computer Centre, has been nominated as the nodal officer for this programme.
According to the BHU spokesperson, the week-long programme started with the live webcasting over the university website of the launching of Digital India Week by the PM from New Delhi.
An online essay competition on ‘Digital India – Power to Empower’ for students and faculty members will be held during the week.
Prizes will be distributed to the winners. Besides, a multi-session slide show for Digital India Awareness Programme will be organised at Computer Centre on July 6.
