VARANASI: Two associate professors of department of painting, faculty of visual arts, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), S Pranam Singh and Vijay Singh, displayed their talent of painting and used their brush as a magic wand to weave colours on canvas during the week-long National Painters Camp organized in Malampuzha in Kerala from June 20.
To promote and propagate the indigenous forms of painting and allow the artists of different cultures to exchange their intricacies and technical skills, Kerala Lalithakala Akademi (National Academy of Art) organised a week-long National Painters Camp at KTDC Garden House, Rock Garden Road, Malampuzha from June 20 to June 26.

While S Pranam Singh, inspired from Kerala’s culture, painted a Kerala woman, Vijay Singh painted the spirit of the holy city, Varanasi, on the four by five feet canvas.
“A slide-show of paintings of all the artists were shown via projector in the evening where every artist learnt more and more about their style of painting,” shared S Pranam Singh.
Artists from Kerala, Baroda, Varanasi, Hyderabad and Chennai participated in the camp.
