Ahmedabad gets a new museum, created inside centuries old burj (Video)

Ahmedabad gets its latest museum, built in burj of Gaekwad ni haveli. The museum is dedicated to Vasant and Rajab, two friends who were killed by communal mob during riots in wall city Ahmedabad in year 1946. They were killed when they stopped the mob to proceed to burn down a house with a woman and child inside. Vasant was Hindu while Rajab was Khoja (Gujarati speaking) Muslim. A ground plus two-storey museum has been created in Gaekwad Haveli’s burj by city police crime branch through Suraksha Setu scheme fund. This burj built by Marathas over two centuries back has been beautifully utilized to build a museum. In video you can find IPS Himanshu Shukla and researched Rizwan Kadri guiding the Chief Minister who inaugurated this museum. In fact the museum is brainchild of these two gentlemen. Also guiding the Chief Minister is IPS Deepen Bhadran who is presently heading the Crime Branch of Ahmedabad city police. The museum has panels, old press cutting, photographs, shoes of Vasantrao Hegiste, video kiosk, busts of Vasant and Rajab, statues of them depicting the scene when they stopped rioting mob, paper cutouts and illustration of incident and more. Gujarat Home Minister Rajnibhai Patel, MoS Shankarbhai Chaudhary, Gujarat Police Chief Thakur and City Police Commissioner Jha, Mayor of Ahmedabad, Lok Sabha MP Solanki among others were with Chief Minister during this visit to museum.
