4 state-of-art veggie markets in Bhopal on cards
BHOPAL: You could soon be spoilt for choice while shopping around for vegetables and fruits. Taking care of current crowded alleys and foul smell witnessed in the vegetable markets, state government has announced plans to open four state-of-art vegetable markets or sabzi mandi in state capital.
Currently, vegetables in the city are sourced from Karond — primary sourcing market for all retailers.
Residents in city have to rely on disorderly vendors. If plans of government are any indication, district administration now wants vendors to vacate roads and get them organized in new sabzi mandi's to make vegetable shopping an easier experience.
As per plans four new locations Arera Colony, Kolar, Awadhpuri, Ayodhya Nagar have been selected to develop a new vegetable market.
Bittan market sabzi mandi will have a fully AC fish market. Kolar, Awadhpuri, Ayodhya markets are expected to cater to fast developing colonies on outskirts of the city. Moreover, existing Karond mandi will be developed to have a fruit and flower market.
