Indian markets are trading on a flat note on Thursday. Both Sensex and Nifty were trading above 2-month high. At 1.10 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 13.56 points or 0.05% at 28,034.43 with 17 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 14 points or 0.17% at 8,467.05 with 28 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Bharti Airtel (1.99%), Bajaj Auto (1.90%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.82%), Wipro (1.26%), Hero Motocorp (1.12%), and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.01%).
On the other hand, Tata Motors (1.16%), Hindalco Industries (1.06%), Coal India (0.95%), H D F C Bank (0.94%), Infosys (0.92%), and Vedanta (0.80%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
The Oil & Gas index was at 10,044.68, up by 96.90 points or by 0.97%. The Auto index was at 19,065.85, up by 105.04 points or by 0.55%. On the other hand, the Consumer Durables index was at 10,754.69, down by 67.05 points or by 0.62%.
Market breadth was negative with 1,378 advances against 972 declines.
